Mother's Day is May 8, which is only two weeks away! Does anyone else feel like this year is just flying by? So anyways, Mother's Day is always a little bit of a challenge for me because my mom's birthday is also in May. And how many times can I gift her candles or lotions from Bath & Body Works? I've found that she and I both enjoy the kind of gifts that spark wonderful memories, instead of little trinkets that get stuck in the back on cabinets and forgotten. So this year, I've come up with some pretty great ideas, and they're so great that I wanted to share them with you!
1. Painting With A Twist
I can paint hair all day everyday, but I am certainly no Picasso when it comes to putting paint to canvas. So you can imagine my anxiety when I recently joined a friend at Painting With A Twist - Carrollwood. But when you add a glass of wine and good company in to the mix, it became an incredibly enjoyable time! In fact, I plan to go again this Mother's Day with my mom because I think she will love it! It's not even really about how good the painting itself comes out, but just getting to spend time with her, and creating two pieces of art that both of us will always look upon in good memory. We may even trade paintings, so she has mine, and I have hers. So if you're up for a couple hours of good, creative fun, definitely check out Painting With A Twist online here.
2. Family Portraits with Rojas Photography
They say a picture is worth 1000 words, however, a portrait from Rojas Photography will leave you utterly speechless. This isn't your typical stuffy, overly-posed photography session. Spend the afternoon out and about in beautiful Tampa Bay and let him capture the moments with the people that matter most. You can set up your session to include your whole family, or treat Mom to an entire session for herself (what woman doesn't enjoy having amazing pictures of herself?) Rojas Photography offers his professional services at an incredibly reasonable rate, but what price can you put on treasures that will last a lifetime. You can find out more information about booking a session here. After you receive your pictures, upload them to Shutterfly and create a beautiful photo book or canvas prints! (Again, super affordable and high-quality!)
3. Brunch at Ciccio Cali - Tampa Palms
Okay so this place is like my most favorite place EVER! Last year, I brought my mom here for their Mother's Day brunch and it was AMAZING. We sat outside on their pretty patio area, where we sipped giant glasses of mimosas and listened to live music. The breakfast bowls we had were out-of-this-world delicious, and despite being busy, the service was on point. Definitely recommend making this a Brunch destination. Check out their brunch menu here.
4. Massage at Springfield Wellness
You simply can't go wrong with treating Mom to a massage, and the therapists at Springfield Wellness will take extremely good care of her. I've been seeing Rebecca for over a year now and she is my LIFE SAVER! So be sure to check our my new Sola neighbors over in studio #25 at Springfield Wellness. You can reach Rebecca and Kim by calling (727) 258-2777.
5. Good Hair Vibes gift certificate
Duh! Let Mom experience a relaxing day at GHV, where she will leaving looking and feeling like a million bucks. Give the gift of beautiful hair, something all women desire but sometimes don't make the time for. I am giving away a $100 gift certificate to one lucky Mom this Mother's Day, check out my Facebook page for all the details on how to enter to win!
I hope after reading this you are feeling more inspired to do something awesome for Mom (or yourself!) this Mother's Day! Please share any other great ideas you have, or if you decide to use any of the ideas I've listed above on the GHV Facebook page!
Peace, love and good hair vibes
